Eastridge Housing Scheme (O-9)

This Scheme is situated about one kilometer from the Islamabad Highway adjacent to Bahria Town, Pakistan Town and PWD Societies.  Dual carriageway leads to the housing scheme.The scheme was launched in 1989 in total area of 2730 Kanals of land.  After completion of legal formalities, the development of the housing scheme was started and memberships were offered to NPF beneficiaries and government servants through advertisement in national newspapers.  In response to the advertisement, 3036 persons obtained memberships.  2853 plots of different sizes were allotted in the scheme for residential purpose while 119 plots of different sizes were created for commercial purpose.  After development, the plots were allotted to the members while 32 Kanals of land was provided to the IESCO (Islamabad Electric Supply Corporation), Islamabad for the construction of grid station for the supply of electricity to the scheme as well as the scheme in the neighbourhood. PTCL has also laid down their system for providing telephone connections to the residents of the scheme.
 
The O-9 housing scheme is fully developed except for some external work of electrification and Sui Gas is yet to be completed in a small area of the scheme.  About 60% houses have been constructed and families are living there very peacefully.  All the basic needs are available in the scheme.  Site engineer alongwith the required employees has also been deputed in the scheme to provide necessary facilities to residents of the area.  19 security personnel of NPF(SS) have also been deployed their for the protection of the residents of the scheme and to avoid any untoward incident.  The green belt has been maintained in the housing scheme.  Carpeted metal roads are also available within the area of the housing societies for the smooth movement of the inhabitants..
